Below are questions that are commonly asked concerning PHCA. If you do not find your question listed, please email or give us a call at 816-228-0670.

Q. What are the school hours of operation?

A. School is from 8:30am-3:30pm. The doors open at 8:20am. Extended care is available from 7:00am-8:30am and/or from 3:30pm-6:00pm.

Q. How much will it cost to send my child to school?

A. For the education that is offered, the tuition is a bargain. It is roughly $350.00 a month per student, but there are several payment options to bring that number lower. Please see our Tuition and Fee Schedule.

Q. Are there various payment methods?

A. Yes. We offer 10 and 12 month payment plans, or you may pay in full before the first day of school and receive a 5% discount on the tuition bill.

Q. Are the teachers certified?

A. All of our elementary teachers are certified through ACSI or the State of Missouri. All of our teachers are degreed and have special skills or training to be teaching in their varied fields. For instance, our choral music teacher has a degree in music, although he is not certified to teach it.

Q. Is your school accredited?

A. The PHCA School Board voted in December 2002 to become a member of ACSIs STAR program, which will walk us through the accreditation process. Even though not accredited yet, our students score above the norm in all categories on the Stanford Achievement Test, and there are no problems transferring to other schools.

Q. Do you require students to wear uniforms?

A. Uniforms are not required. Our Dress Code is one that calls for modesty and tact above any prescribed dress.

Q. What curriculum do you use?

A. We use a combination of A Beka, ACSI, and Saxon. Saxon is used for math in grades 7-12, ACSI is used for kindergarten through 6th grade math, Bible and spelling, and A Beka is used for all other subjects.
